So thank goodness the snow held out or rather disappeared.  We headed in around 11 and the roads were clear.  Cody did his bloodwork and we waited for the drs.  His counts were good, he did not need any transfusions, no platelets or blood.  He looked good!  He was not neutropenic yet so we could get lunch out.  We had to drop off his urine at the kidney specialist.  They are still monitoring the protein there.  His scans are scheduled for March 3rd and chemo will begin March 4.
After lunch we met with radiation team.  All looked good until we talked about the long term plan.  There is a chance that he will need radiation to the lungs.  They just want to make sure they got everything.  We discussed the possibility of 'dead' tumor.  Cody would like it out eventually.  We will discuss more when all is finished.  I was not prepared for the radiation news but will keep praying that the chemo is working and the scans have improved.
Thank you all for thinking of us.  We feel the love.
PS. My mom will be back in the nursing home in a day or two.  She recovered as well as can be expected and we will just have to wait and see how much her body can handle.  Thank you.

  1. Mary,

I apologize for not having responded to your post sooner. I hope with the coming of spring that all the treatment was successful and that Cody will no longer need to spend time at Sloan except for re-checks. Love to you both. I share your anxiety and concerns. Sending love and hugs to you both!

    xoxo,
    Diane
