Feb. 13, 2014

SO this is the 5 day chemo.  I was on the wrong cycle.  This is cycle 8 of 14 then we go to maintenance which can partially be done at home.  I drove in yesterday with friend, Jean  and her fiancé.  It is always good to have company.  We lucked out.  We had a nice dinner then once we went to go hang at the Ronald house, Cody was offered 4 tix to the Knicks game.  So off we went.  It was fun and a nice experience.  Jean and I were hoping for this snow day so we could rest, as we got home around midnight.  It was all worth it!  Cody is doing well and loves the company.  They love him at Sloan and that makes me comfortable when I cannot be there.  I hate not being there.  Hopefully all gets cleared up tomorrow so I can travel safely to get him.
I was corresponding with our great friends at Contractors for Kids this morning.  Debbie and all of the people there are amazing.  I am always so touched by the kind words they share. We are invited to their huge event next month and depending where Cody is in treatment depends on it we can go.  I have to post it here. This is what make CFK so special.  I don't think Debbie will mind…here is what she wrote me: I consider myself so blessed because of the many special people in my life. You both are part of that. We surround ourselves with good people because collectively we all help each other in our own ways. Whether it be strength, inspiration, a smile, a needed hug, words of encouragement....those things are all so important and make us the people we are so we can do the same for others. You and Cody have done that for me and allowed me to pay it forward to others- the hope, inspiration, strength and the feeling of love. I am a better person because of how you have touched my life. Thank you and keep the faith that Cody will pull through again, no matter how difficult, he is so strong and will pull through. CFK will always be there for you but so will I! Take care, stay safe and warm today and we will speak again next week. Love you xoxo
